OLIVE OIL

The extra virgin olive oil used to make Malina Castile Soap is harvested in the most recent year, is ultra-high in polyphenols and offers superb medicinal qualities. Extra virgin olive oil has been used topically for centuries to relieve every day skin ailments. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-aging properties because it is packed with antioxidants and vitamins. It hydrates the skin by building the skin’s moisture barrier to prevent loss of moisture. Abundant in vitamin K, vitamin E, and polyphenols, olive oil protects against free radicals which damage the skin.

 

SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Making soap requires sodium hydroxide (lye), water, and oil to start the chemical process of saponification. While a fair amount of lye may be used to create the soap, a properly finished product doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide anymore.

 

ROSEMARY ESSENTIAL OIL

The anti-microbial, antiseptic, astringent, antioxidant, and tonic properties of rosemary essential oil make it a beneficial additive in skincare products that are meant to soothe and treat dry or oily skin, eczema, inflammation, and acne. Rich in iron, calcium, and phytonutrients, rosemary essential oil can help protect skin cells from damage caused by the sun and free radicals. Rosemary essential oil stimulates blood circulation, increasing skin's elasticity. Applied topically, rosemary essential oil soothes inflammation and reduces appearance of age spots. Rosemary oil offers potent anti-inflammatory properties helping to sooth pain; it has been used in folk medicine as natural pain reliever for centuries.

Before you start using this bar, store it in a cool dry place out of direct light.

Wet your skin, work the soap into a lather and apply it to your body. Gently massage it into your skin with a circular motion for about 30 seconds and rinse.

Place on a draining soap dish after every use.
